REVERSE OSMOSIS PRODUCT

MAKS 494 REVERSE OSMOSIS MEMBRANE CLEANER

MAKS 494 REVERSE OSMOSIS MEMBRANE CLEANER

GENERAL DESCRIPTION

MAKS 494 is a liquid acidic cleaning compound for membrane systems

PRINCIPAL USES

MAKS 494 is an acidic membrane cleaner specifically designed to remove silicate & iron fouling. It also has effectiveness against calcium carbonate scaling. The efficacy of MAKS 494 can be enhanced by the addition of MAKS 482 to the cleaning solution when some minor pH correction may be necessary.

PRODUCT BENEFITS

  • Very effective acidic cleaner for removing hard scales like calcium carbonates, iron oxides, silicates or other sulfates & hydroxides
  • Liquid product for ease of use
  • High level of active substance
  • Buffered to ensure pH control

DOSAGE & FEEDING

Cleaning solutions should be prepared with chlorine free product water to give a 2,5 – 5 % w/w solution. As MAKS 494 is buffered the cleaning solution will stabilize at pH 2.6. The cleaning time depends on the amount of fouling & scale present. Specific cleaning procedures for fouled membranes are available.

Your BİMAKS representative will recommend the optimum dosage necessary to ensure maximum program performance according to your specific system parameters.

MAKS 494 should always be used as recommended by the membrane manufacturer in respect to temperature and pH, as compatibility with all membrane types should not be assumed.

MATERIALS: Storage tanks, piping and feeding equipment for MAKS 494 should be constructed PTFE or stainless steel 316. Direct contact of the neat product should be avoided with aluminum, brass, stainless steel 304, carbon steel and nickel.

HANDLING-STORAGE-SHIPPING

As a standard precaution with all chemicals we recommend the use of personal protective equipments such as goggles and rubber gloves when handling. Consult the Material Safety Data Sheet as the only official source of Environmental and Safety information.

MAKS 494 can be stored for at least 24 months from date of shipping if kept in its original, unopened container and under normal warehouse conditions. Protect from freezing and from exposure to high temperature.

MAKS 494 is available in non-returnable containers of different sizes.

APPLICATION METHOD AND QUANTITY

The dosage quantity of the product changes according to the operating conditions and water chemistry of the system. BIMAKS representative will propose the appropriate dosage quantity to ensure maximum conditioning performance based on the distributed system parameters.
