MAKS 473 MICROORGANISM CONTROL AGENT

MAKS 473 MICROORGANISM CONTROL AGENT

GENERAL DESCRIPTION

MAKS 473 is a non-oxidizing and non-ionic antimicrobial formulation.

PRINCIPAL USES

MAKS 473 is a biocontrol agent for use in membranes and pre-treatment plants. It has a broad spectrum of activity and application on a routine basis preventing the growth of biofilms on membrane surfaces, filter media and pipe-work. MAKS 473 may be used as a storage preservative for certain types of membranes.

PRODUCT BENEFITS

  • Broad spectrum of activity
  • Readily biodegradable and easily deactivated to harmless by-products
  • Non-foaming
  • Compatible with most of the membrane types

DOSAGE

The specific dosage of MAKS 473 varies depending on the severity of biofouling and the type of application. Specific cleaning procedures for fouled membranes are available:

Cleaning fouled membranes: 0.1-0.2% w/w solution of MAKS 473 should alternately be soaked and circulated through the membrane system for 5-6 hours.

Prevention of microbial fouling: For non-potable water applications MAKS 473 can be used to prevent biofilm formation. It should be applied continuously to the feed water for 4-6 hours/day. The frequency of addition will depend on the degree of biofouling.

Membrane StorageMAKS 473 is suitable for the long-term storage of membranes. The treatment level depends on the expected storage life.

Your BIMAKS representative will recommend the optimum dosage necessary to ensure maximum program performance according to your specific system parameters.

FEEDING

MAKS 473 is either continuously or slug-fed, depending on it’s application.

MATERIALS: Storage and application equipments (pumps, lines) should be made of stainless steel 304 and 316, aluminum, brass, carbon steel, neoprene, nickel, PU or plasite 7122. So not use EPDM or plasite 4005 in contact with the neat product.

HANDLING-STORAGE-SHIPPING

As a standard precaution with all chemicals we recommend the use of personal protective equipments such as goggles and rubber gloves when handling. Consult the Material Safety Data Sheet as the only official source of Environmental and Safety information.

MAKS 473 can be stored for at least 24 months from date of shipping if kept in its original, unopened container and under normal warehouse conditions. Protect from freezing and from exposure to high temperature.

MAKS 473 is available in non-returnable containers of different sizes.

APPLICATION METHOD AND QUANTITY

The dosage quantity of the product changes according to the operating conditions and water chemistry of the system. BIMAKS representative will propose the appropriate dosage quantity to ensure maximum conditioning performance based on the distributed system parameters.
