BOILER WATER TREATMENT

MAKS 1341 CONDENSATE TREATMENT

MAKS 1341 CONDENSATE TREATMENT

GENERAL DESCRIPTION

MAKS 1320 is an aqueous blend of neutralizing amines and organic oxygen scavenger/metal passivator.

PRINCIPAL USES

MAKS 1320 contains multifunctional corrosion inhibitors designed for use in steam and complex condensate systems. The product provides optimum metal passivation and system protection. MAKS 1320 can be used at steam pressures up to 160 bars and temperatures up to 479°C.

MAKS 1320 cannot be used where compliance with FDA or USDA regulations are required.

PRODUCT BENEFITS

  • Provides corrosion protection in initial, middle and extended areas of condensate systems
  • Provides oxygen scavenging and metal passivation
  • Reduces condensate system maintenance cost
  • Minimizes boiler tube failures caused by corrosion product in returned condensate

DOSAGE

The specific dosage of MAKS 1320 varies depending on return condensate rate, make-up water quality and CO2-content in the steam. MAKS 1320 should be fed to maintain a pH of 8.5 to 9.0 throughout the condensate system.

Your BIMAKS representative will recommend the optimum dosage necessary to ensure maximum program performance.

Recommended dosing point for MAKS 1320 is steam header.

FEEDING

MAKS 1320 should be fed neat (undiluted). The product should be fed to the steam header of the deaerator storage tank or the boiler feedwater line. MAKS 1320 must be fed continuously to prevent corrosion of the condensate system. MAKS 1320 should not be mixed with other chemicals.

MATERIALS: Storage and application equipments (pumps, lines) should be made of stainless steel 304 and 316, PE, PP or Teflon. Do not use Aluminum, Copper, Brass, Fiberglas, Galvanized steel (Zinc), Carbon steel, Nickel, PVC or PU in contact with the neat product.

HANDLING-STORAGE-SHIPPING

As a standard precaution with all chemicals we recommend the use of personal protective equipment such as goggles and rubber gloves when handling. Consult the Material Safety Data Sheet as the only official source of Environmental and Safety information.

MAKS 1320 can be stored for at least 24 months from date of shipping if kept in its original unopened container and under normal warehouse conditions. Protect from freezing and from exposure to high temperature.

MAKS 1320 is available in non-returnable containers of different sizes.

APPLICATION METHOD AND QUANTITY

The dosage quantity of the product changes according to the operating conditions and water chemistry of the system. BIMAKS representative will propose the appropriate dosage quantity to ensure maximum conditioning performance based on the distributed system parameters.
