BOILER WATER TREATMENT

MAKS 1300 CONDENSATE TREATMENT

MAKS 1300 CONDENSATE TREATMENT

GENERAL DESCRIPTION

MAKS 1300 is an aqueous blend of the neutralizing amines.

PRINCIPAL USES

MAKS 1300 is a neutralizing corrosion inhibitor designed for use in steam and complex condensate systems. MAKS 1300 can be used at steam pressures up to 160 bars and temperatures up to 4790C.

REMARKMAKS 1300 is in compliance with FDA regulations pertaining to boiler water additives. Maximum dosage in plants subject to FDA regulation does not to exceed 45 ppm in the steam. MAKS 1300 must not be used where the steam produced will contact milk or milk products.

PRODUCT BENEFITS

  • Neutralizes acid-forming gases like CO2
  • Provides corrosion protection in initial, middle and extended areas of condensate systems
  • Reduces condensate system maintenance cost
  • Minimizes boiler tube failures caused by corrosion product in returned condensate

DOSAGE

The specific dosage of MAKS 1300 varies depending on return condensate rate, make-up water quality and CO2-content in the steam. MAKS 1300 should be fed to maintain a pH of 8.5 to 9.0 throughout the condensate system.

Your BIMAKS representative will recommend the optimum dosage necessary to ensure maximum program performance according to your specific system parameters.

Recommended dosing point for MAKS 1300 is steam header.

FEEDING

MAKS 1300 should be fed neat (undiluted). The product should be fed to the steam header through a stainless steel retractable injector. Feeding ahead of or to the deaerator, the boiler feedwater or to the boiler steam drum is also possible but will result in some product loss through the deaerator vent and/or through the boiler blowdown.

MAKS 1300 must be fed continuously; any interruption in feed will result in scale or deposit formation and possible tube failure.

MAKS 1300 should not be mixed with other chemicals.

MATERIALS: Storage and application equipments (pumps, lines) should be made of stainless steel, PE, PP or teflon. Do not use PVC, PU, Viton, Hypalon or non-ferrous metals such as Copper alloys, Aluminum, Nickel and Zinc.

NOTE: Teflon should be used as a sealing material. Viton or other rubber materials are not compatible with this product.

HANDLING-STORAGE-SHIPPING

As a standard precaution with all chemicals we recommend the use of personal protective equipments such as goggles and rubber gloves when handling. Consult the Material Safety Data Sheet as the only official source of Environmental and Safety information.

MAKS 1300 can be stored for at least 24 months from date of shipping if kept in its original, unopened container and under normal warehouse conditions. Protect from freezing and from exposure to high temperature.

MAKS 1300 is available in non-returnable containers of different sizes.

APPLICATION METHOD AND QUANTITY

The dosage quantity of the product changes according to the operating conditions and water chemistry of the system. BIMAKS representative will propose the appropriate dosage quantity to ensure maximum conditioning performance based on the distributed system parameters.
