BOILER WATER TREATMENT

MAKS 1121 OXYGEN SCAVENGER

MAKS 1121 OXYGEN SCAVENGER

GENERAL DESCRIPTION

MAKS 1121 is a special blend of liquid organic metal passivator and organic oxygen scavenger.

PRINCIPAL USES

MAKS 1121 provides protection for hot water and boiler/condensate systems up to 125 bars by scavenging the oxygen.

PRODUCT BENEFITS

  • Provides passivation of steel and copper surfaces
  • Scavenges oxygen rapidly from 90°C
  • Neutralizes carbonic acid in the condensate
  • Rapid and even distribution throughout the steam/condensate system
  • High proportions can be recycled by condensate recirculation
  • Minimal increase of boiler water conductivity

DOSAGE

The specific dosage of MAKS 1121 varies depending on the operating characteristics of your system and the water chemistry.

MAKS 1121 should be dosed in any case at a dosage enough to scavenge oxygen (50 ppm product/ppm 02) and to maintain a pH of minimum 8.3 in the condensate system.

Your BIMAKS representative will recommend the optimum dosage necessary to ensure maximum program performance according to your specific system parameters.

FEEDING

MAKS 1121 is applied neat or diluted with demineralized water, condensate (<35oC ) or deaerated boiler feedwater via a stainless steel quill into the deaerators storage tank.

Recommended dosing point for MAKS 1121 is the deaerator’s storage section in boilers.

MATERIALS: Storage and application equipments (pumps, lines) should be made of stainless steel or common plastic materials like PE, PP, PVC, EPDM, Teflon or Viton. Do not use carbon steel, brass or nickel in contact with the neat product.

HANDLING-STORAGE-SHIPPING

As a standard precaution with all chemicals we recommend the use of personal protective equipments such as goggles and rubber gloves when handling. Consult the Material Safety Data Sheet as the only official source of Environmental and Safety information.

MAKS 1121 can be stored for at least 24 months from date of shipping if kept in its original, unopened container and under normal warehouse conditions. Protect from freezing and from exposure to high temperature.

MAKS 1121 is available in non-returnable containers of different sizes.

APPLICATION METHOD AND QUANTITY

The dosage quantity of the product changes according to the operating conditions and water chemistry of the system. BIMAKS representative will propose the appropriate dosage quantity to ensure maximum conditioning performance based on the distributed system parameters.
