MAKS 9645-SUGAR EVAPORATOR SCALE INHIBITOR

MAKS 9645-SUGAR EVAPORATOR SCALE INHIBITOR

GENERAL DESCRIPTION

MAKS 9645 is based on a spesific polyacrylates in aqueous solution.

PRINCIPAL USES

MAKS 9645 provides excellent scale control in sugar juice evaporators in sugar mills. It is especially designed for beet or cane sugar processing and in sugar plants where the juice is not or only partially softened.

MAKS 9645 prevents or limits the formation of scale by insoluble salts on the evaporator heat transfer surfaces and reduces so the steam consumption. Further it will help keeping the highest evaporator throughput and production capacity and reduces or eliminates the need for chemical and mechanical cleanings with all associated problems in the process.

PRODUCT BENEFITS

  • Excellent scale inhibitor – stabilizing effect which raises the crystallization threshold of the insoluble salts
  • Enhanced dispersant properties help keeping the nucleus crystals in the form of a fluid sludge
  • Crystallization modifier which stops assembly of calcium and magnesium salts scale build up
  • Excellent thermal stability
  • Easy handling – non-dangerous according to European legislation for preparations
  • Is in compliance with:
  • European regulations for sugar industry
  • FDA regulation 21 CFR 173.73

DOSAGE

The specific dosage of MAKS 9645 will vary depending upon the operating characteristics of the diffusion system, the beet quality and the severity of microbio problems encountered.

Typical dosage rate is 6-8 ppm to the clarified juice prior to the first evaporator.

FEEDING

In most applications MAKS 9645 should be injected continuously through dosing pump. It can be used in neat form (straight from the packaging) or in diluted form. Feeding can be automated by systems with on-line hardness measurement.

MATERIALS: Storage and application equipment (pumps, lines) should be made of stainless steel or plastic material like PE, PP, PVC with ethylene-propylene terpolymer (EPDM) seals. Do not use carbon steel, copper, aluminum or zinc in contact with the neat product.

HANDLING-STORAGE-SHIPPING

As a standard precaution with all chemicals we recommend the use of personal protective equipments such as goggles and rubber gloves when handling. Consult the Material Safety Data Sheet as the only official source of Environmental and Safety information.

MAKS 9645 can be stored for at least 24 months from date of shipping if kept in its original, unopened container and under normal warehouse conditions. Protect from freezing and from exposure to high temperature.

MAKS 9645 is available in non-returnable containers of different sizes.

APPLICATION METHOD AND QUANTITY

The dosage quantity of the product changes according to the operating conditions and water chemistry of the system. BIMAKS representative will propose the appropriate dosage quantity to ensure maximum conditioning performance based on the distributed system parameters.
