MAKS 1680 SCALE AND CORROSION INHIBITOR
GENERAL DESCRIPTION
MAKS 1680 is a combination of organic and inorganic inhibitors, a strong dispersant on the basis of poly-carbonic acids and a pH- puffer system. The product does not contain chromate, nitrite and toxic heavy metals.
PRINCIPAL USES
MAKS 1680 prevents corrosion and deposit formation in closed heating systems filled with softened or demineralized makeup water. MAKS 1680 is mainly applied in hot water boilers or heating systems like secondary heating systems of power plants and chemical industry as well as in closed heating loops of all types of industries.
PRODUCT BENEFITS
Prevents corrosion on copper and its alloys
Maintains constant heat transfer by keeping surfaces free of deposits
Stabilizes pH range
Prevents scale formation and resulting tube failures
Provides metal passivation
Environmentally friendly; does not contain heavy metals and inorganic phosphate
DOSAGE
The specific dosage of MAKS 1680 varies depending on the operating characteristics (material of construction, holding time, water chemistry) of your system and the total acidified hardness of feed water. Important parameters (e.g. product concentration, hardness, pH) have to be kept and checked regularly. To control the performance of MAKS 1680 treatment, a suitable analytical procedure as well as test-kits is available.
Your BIMAKS representative will recommend the optimum dosage necessary to ensure maximum program performance according to your specific system parameters.
FEEDING
MAKS 1680 is applied neat or diluted with softened or diluted water at any ratio. MAKS 1680 should be fed to maintain a pH of 8.5 to 9.0 throughout the condensate system. This range is optimal for corrosion protection.
MATERIALS: Storage and application equipments (pumps, lines) should be made of plastic material, PE, PP, PVC, PTFE or stainless steel. Do not use carbon steel, copper, brass or aluminum in contact with the neat product.
HANDLING-STORAGE-SHIPPING
As a standard precaution with all chemicals we recommend the use of personal protective equipments such as goggles and rubber gloves when handling. Consult the Material Safety Data Sheet as the only official source of Environmental and Safety information.
MAKS 1680 can be stored for at least 24 months from date of shipping if kept in its original, unopened container and under normal warehouse conditions. Protect from freezing and from exposure to high temperature.
MAKS 1680 is available in non-returnable containers of different sizes.
